Thanks for listening today, guys. It’s hard to believe that it’s been six long years since I was sitting in your very seats!
Nonetheless, Here’s a few points that I’d love for you to take away from what I shared with you today. Just incase you didn’t catch ’em, they were:
- This is a class – so recognize the importance of learning from Mrs. Gill and from each other
- BE. PROFESSIONAL. At all times. Really.
- Take the time to really work on your ads & fundraising…these are skills that are useful and can also turn into references. Be a hustler.
- Use online media where you can/where it’s allowed. You already know: it’s the future. Hell, it’s the present! (www.hesonwheels.com/ctsample)
- Keep your eye on the prize: Production is an important (and can also be very FUN time
- Try to write about stuff you care about, but also take one for the team when necessary. Your readers will be able to tell.
- Hold on to your work! Create a portfolio…
What a great transition! I also wanted to include a few links (a portfolio of sorts) to some items that I’ve published and worked on in the past.
