Although I’m out of town to begin this week, I thought all of my D.C. friends might like to know…this week start’s DC’s Winter Restaurant Week!
I’m a big foodie and I always love to check out what our Nation’s Capital (and the surrounding DMV area) has to offer in terms of fine dining. Throw in a good deal with this young professional’s budget, and you’ve got me hooked!
Some of the highlights of this year’s winter Restaurant Week (as far as places that I have tried in the past and would recommend to others) are:
- Rasika**
- Rosa Mexicano (I prefer the Penn Quarter location)
- Georgia Brown’s
- Clyde’s (Georgetown)
- Chart House (Alexandria)
- Oyamel
- La Taberna
** – Defintely, definitely go and get their Chicken Tikka. DE-LISH.
A serious gem that is missing from this list, I think, is Founding Farmer’s. Their chicken pot pie (below), as well as their chicken and waffles, are two of the best meals I have ever had in and around the District! You can check out the DCist’s opinion here (I actually haven’t been to any of the places on their list, but I really trust their opinion about 102% of the time), and check out the official DC Winter Restaurant Week page here.
Some other solid places to go, I’d say, would be dinner spots like Ruth’s Chris, Morton’s, and SEI…they are usually pretty pricey but with restaurant week, especially if you have a significant other, you can score a pretty solid deal at dinnertime. You can also easily search to see if your favorite restaurant is included in the week’s promotions here. If you go anywhere good, or have feedback on the places I’ve suggested here, let me know!
And of course…this was the end result. :) Happy Eating my friends!
