I can’t get over this little guy. Point blank: read more about him and his dedication to his friend here.
This blog post is 100%, undoubtedly, completely, an ode to this little guy. Caymen is one of the best people I have met. Ever. I mean it. Before you read the rest of this blog, read that article. Now. Read it. Well, now that you’ve read it, you know that it highlights Caymen’s dedication to his friend, as he raised over $1,000 for the American Heart Association in early 2013. He wants to cure heart disease so that no one is ever harmed by it again, especially no one he loves. I’m so honored to have known Caymen as he has grown up, and to also have connected with his brother, Jordan, and his mom, Amy. Them, plus their dad, Adam, are amazing, amazing people.
I had the fortune of meeting the Stevens family when I lived in Blacksburg full-time from 2008 – this past summer. I volunteered at Harding Avenue Elementary School for six years straight, through the YMCA at Virginia Tech, a commitment I am still most proud of in anything that I did during my time as a Tech student. At the beginning of this past summer I wrote about Caymen and his family here, too: obviously they have all really touched my life. I am most proud to know them because of the way that they are also touching the lives of others.
