Hoda is Fireside!

I’m excited that I got off of the wait list for this event later this week! Should be interesting! It’s sponsored the college I was in (College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences), as well as the college I like to act like I’m a part of (Pamplin College of Business). :)

As one of the more well-known Hokies, I’ve always wanted to meet Hoda Kotb. She has done great work for our Alumni Association, and was the keynote speaker for the 2008 commencement. She gives back to the university in ways that I hope to give back when I’m much, much further along in my career. I have deep respect for folks who give back in such legitimate ways, especially when they could be doing a million other things…you know, like hosting the Today Show.

Maybe this Friday will be the day!

Edit: Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to attend due to illness. It looked like a great event though! I was able to watch online, and they have an archived version of the Fireside Chat posted online, too, here. Below are some screen grabs from the event, as I was watching it on my iPhone with WebEx.
